Fenella Davies lives in England and works mainly in textiles and mixed media.
Her work gives a sense of place and time – pared down to a simple design element – the relationship of form and colour. She utilises to the full the medium in which she works – recycled papers and cloth, antique fabrics, emphasising the raw torn edges, visible stitches and paint.
Implications of the past are a recurring theme – the traces of peoples, their history, and places. Her pieces reflect times past – marks on walls, discarded papers, the detritus of life - ‘the signs we leave behind us, who we were and what we achieved, make us the people we are today.’
Serendipity is all.
Her work has been exhibited worldwide, and in many publications. She also has work in museums in the UK, USA and Europe.
