Mirjam Pet-Jacobs is a Dutch mixed media artist. Her work focuses on transitional situations: “We have to cross borders, or we might try to avoid them. What do we leave, what are we taking with us? Transgression, changes, time passing: how do we perceive all this? How do we deal with change? Can we understand it?”

Mirjam prefers to use discarded fabrics, old drawings, scraps and other ‘useless’ materials to visualize her reflections and to comment on our wasteful society.
Combining these materials with paper, paint, ink, drawing, painting, stitching and occasionally photography and video she creates 2- and 3-D work in a sober and restrained palette.

Her work has appeared in many publications and has been widely exhibited all over the world. It can be found in several museums in Europe and the USA.
