Quilt Art welcomes applications for membership. The group is looking for evidence of an original independent artistic voice and excellent workmanship. QA accepts textile work as well as quilts but work must be able to be shipped as the exhibitions travel. A commitment to the group and a willingness to participate in running it is essential. We expect members to take part in the running of the group.

We have 4 meetings a year – two are aactual weekend meetings usually in members homes where we have time to look at work and also to socialise. The other meetings are zoom calls usually usually filled up with business talk about practical things involved in running an exhibition group. Group members are expected to come to at least two meetings a year.

The application process is in two stages.
1. At least images of 7-8 pieces of work made within the last three years showing the whole quilt including edges and close up shots are to be sent by email or uploaded to Dropbox, WeTransfer or similar, along with an artist’s statement and CV. Please add titles, dates, a brief outline of techniques and captions to help the group when they are viewed and discussed.
2. Applicants who are successful at this stage will be invited to attend an interview and bring examples of their work. This will be at the home of one of the members. A final decision will be taken after the interview.
